The South River High School Golf team finished in a first place tie with Broadneck in the opening match of the 2009 Season at Eisenhower. The Seahawks were led by Juniors Garrett Harding and Dylan Luiza with scores of 38, followed by Sophomore Michael Chanaud with a score of 39. Sophomore Tyler Cramer rounded out the top 4 for South River with a 44.
South River and Broadneck finished with a team score of 159, 6 strokes ahead of third place Severna Park. Chesapeake finished fourth at 179, Old Mill was fifth at 183 and Arundel finished sixth at 188.
The Seahawk golfers return to action on Thursday at Walden.
