South River Seahawks (9-4) goose Glen Burnie, 10-3

Glen Burnie fought hard yet South River cruised to a blowout 10-3 win in seven innings at Glen Burnie HS on Friday.

The top of the first saw South River take an early lead. Joe Scott started the rally for South River with a single. A groundout by Connor Cox then moved Scott from first to second. Then an error scored Scott. After the quick strike from South River, Glen Burnie responded with two runs in the first. Glen Burnie scored on an RBI triple and a groundout.

South River finally managed to grab and hold the lead after a strong fourth inning. South River scored on an RBI double by Jake Gratz plating Nick Sia.

Sia had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He tripled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.

Charlie Hardesty recorded the win for South River. He allowed three runs over seven innings. The South River pitcher struck out seven, walked three and surrendered six hits.

South River was sparked by Sia and Craig Sheridan, who teamed up for five hits and seven RBIs.South River matched its three-run fifth inning with three more in the seventh. In the fifth, South River scored on a two-run triple by Sheridan, plating Bryan Shores and Cox. During the contest Scott Mitchell blasted a deep fly for an in the park home run.
