South River Seahawks (11-6) sting Southern 11-1 in five innings
Seahawks began aggressively with 5 runs in the top of the first at Southern HS. Bulldog pitching and defense was no match for leadoff man Joe Scott who singled followed by Nick Sia’s double and winning pitcher Craig Sheridan who reached on error. Scott Mitchell also singled and Nick Raimondo made it on an error. All converted to runs. Austin Wright singled as well. Catcher Jake Gratz was left on first after walking.
Sheridan downed his first 3 batters in order and Southern mustered one run in the second on a double. He stuck out 6 in total and booked just 4 hits and 1 walk.
Throughout the contest, Seahawks defense and offense dominated. In all, Sia doubled twice, Mitchell and Raimondo had a pair of singles, and Joe Scott, Austin Wright, Gratz and Jeff Patterson also singled.
