Our Seahawks started out tentatively and found themselves down 0-1 only 57 seconds into the contest.  The rest of the first quarter demonstrated that they indeed weren't in their groove, and although the typically stout defense kept the Seahawks in the game, the normally raucous South River fans were relatively quiet and subdued.  The Seahawks eventually scored to tie it at 1-1, but not until there was a mere 0:53 remaining in the first quarter.

Although coming back to take a 4-2 lead with 6:31 left in the second quarter and getting their fans more into the game, they again faltered and trailed Urbana 4-5 at the half.  The good news was that while South River looked far from convincing, they appeared to be slowly finding their rhythm, and their fans continued to cheer every good play.

After some excellent halftime coaching and ridding themselves of the last of their butterflies, the Seahawks turned the third quarter into a lacrosse showcase, finding their tempo at both ends and putting on a dominant display of typical South River boys lacrosse - the offense patiently picking apart its opponent while the defense clamped down on the opposite end of the field, turning the screws tighter and tighter.  From down 4-5 with 1:47 left in the first half the Seahawks took total command, scoring 7 unanswered goals to go up 11-5 with 7:59 left in the game - a 7-0 run over 17:48.  The second half was total Seahawk rock and roll, outscoring Urbana 7-1 to convincingly win their first state boys lacrosse title 11-6.
