South River opened the regular season against the visiting Huskies of Patterson Mill High School from Harford County. The Seahawks dominated play but were unable to get on the board until the 22 minute mark when Ellie Pikulsky scored unassisted with a strong shot over the keeper from twenty yards out for a 1-0 lead. Lissette Carneiro broke the game open with two consecutive goals assisted by Grace Casper and Megan Curtner and went into halftime leading 3-0. In the second half, the Huskies defense held South River without a score until the 60 minute mark when Marisa Falsone was taken down in the box and awarded a penalty kick. Falsone took the shot herself and scored to push the lead to 4-0. South River pressured the goal the remainder of the game until Kelsey Winters scored off a rebound in the final minute for a 5-0 final score. The Seahawks defense held the Huskies without a shot on goal while the offense managed 21 shots against the Patterson Mill keeper.
