JV Softball Gains Second Win

Melissa Debari pitched five solid innings for the Seahawks to capture the teams second victory of the year in a 24 to 5 win over Meade. All of the girls contributed offensively. Leading the charge were Teague Reese who was 4 for 4, with 4 runs scored and 3 rbi's. Nicole Canavan went 3 for 3 and Melissa Debari added 4 runs and 3 rbi's, going 4 for 5 from the plate.

JV Softball Earns First Win

The Seahawks earned their first win of the year at home against West Lake, defeating them 20 - 5. Melissa Debari recorded her first win pitching the first four innings only allowing three runs. Katlyn Evans, Alexis Ring, Anna Arcidiacono, Jamie Whilden, and Melissa Debari all went 3 for 3 at the plate and scored three runs.

JV Softball Improves to 3-5 with win over Annapolis

Taylor Brookman gathered her first win of the season pitching a five inning shutout at Annapolis. All of the Seahawks contributed to the offense which exploded for twenty runs. Brookman added at the plate going 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles. She scored 4 runs and had 3 rbi's. Nicole Canavan went 4 for 4, Brandi Dohm 2 for 3 with a triple, Melissa Debari 3 for 3, and Anna Arcidiacono 3 for 4. Way to go Seahawks.

Seahawks Continue Streak against Southern

Melissa Debari pitched 5 innings to pick up her third win and the Seahawks fourth of the season in a 17 to 7 win over Southern. Taylor Brookman went 3 for 3 and scored 2 runs. She racked up four rbi's 3 of which came in a base clearing triple. Ashley Ringer scored two runs and had a superb game behind the plate. Brandi Dohm went 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 3 rbi's. Alexis Ring and Rachel Noyes each went 3 for three with 2 runs and 2 rbi's a piece.

Seahawks Lose to Broadneck

In an exciting and high scoring game, the Seahawks lost to the Bruins 26 to 17. Melissa Debari pitched throughout the contest and added three runs offensively. Alexis Ring had a double, a single, and two walks in five plate appearances. She scored 2 runs and had 3 rbi's. Brandi Dohm had 2 singles and a walk to add 2 runs and 2 rbi's. Katlyn Evans went 4 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 rbi's. Ashley Ringer had another great game behind the plate and Taylor Brookman, Samantha Gheen, and Katlyn Evans made terrific plays defensively.

JV Softball Defeats Severna Park

Melissa Debari pitched seven innings only giving up three runs for her fourth win and the Seahawks fifth of the season. She was accompanied by great defense from Taylor Brookman and Katlyn Evans. Alexis Ring and Nicole Canavan each had six putouts and Anna Arcidiacono had an excellent game behind the plate. Samantha Callahan made a pivotal double play to end one inning where the Falcons were threatening to score. Offensively, sophomores Katlyn Evans, Alexis Ring, and Erin Malley led the Seahawks. Evans was 4 for 5 with 1 run and 1 rbi. Ring was 3 for 4 with 1 run and 1 rbi. Malley hit a triple in the third inning that drove in 2 rbi's. Brie Long went 1 for 2 with 1 rbi and Anna Arcidiacono went 2 for 4 with 1 run and 1 rbi. Taylor Brookman also scored 2 runs. The Seahawks have now improved to 5 and 6 and face Arundel on Wednesday.

Seahawks Fall to Arundel

The Seahawks had too many errors and not enough offense to stay within reach of Arundel, losing 21 to 6. Katlyn Evans went 3 for 3 and scored 3 runs to lead the team. Alexis Ring was 1 for three and had an rbi. Teague Reese was 2 for 2 with a double and a run. Erin Malley was 1 for 2 with a double and a run. Anna Arcidiacono scored the only other run for the Seahawks. The girls hope to turn things around again on Friday against Annapolis.

Seahawks Defeat Annapolis

The Seahawks played a much closer game to the Panthers in their second meeting this season, narrowly defeating them 15 to 10. The Hawks were doubled up several times due to sharply hit line drives, which kept them from really rallying until the sixth inning when they scored 8 runs. Taylor Brookman pitched the first five innings with no decision and Melissa DeBari pitched the final two to gain the win. Katlyn Evans was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 runs scored. Sam Callahan was 2 for 2 with a run and rbi. Alexis Ring was 3 for 4 with two doubles, three rbi's, and a run. Melissa DeBari scored two runs. Brie Long was 2 for 2 with a double and run. Teague Reese was 2 for 2 and scored 2 runs. Rachel Noyes and Jamie Whilden were both 2 for 2 with a run scored. The team is now 6-7 and looking forward to adding to the win column next week.

Seahawks Drop One to Broadneck

After a few rainouts, the Seahawks were held to just one run in a 11 - 1 loss to Broadneck. Freshman Samantha Callahan drove in the only run by a sharp single to centerfield. Jamie Whilden scored the run after being walked. In another positive light, Rachel Noyes made her pitching debut this season and pitched a scoreless inning of relief, due largely to a double play that she made after catching a hard hit line drive. The Seahawks are now 6 and 8 for the season and hope to improve against Southern on Thursday.

Seahawks Defeat Rival Bulldogs

The Seahawks defeat Southern to gain their seventh win. Melissa DeBari pitched 5 innings, throwing 8 strikeouts and only 2 walks to hold the Bulldogs to just 3 runs. Offensively, the Seahawks unloaded for 18 runs. Leading the charge was sophomore first baseman Teague Reese who went 4 for 4 for 3 runs and 2 rbi's. Sophomore centerfielder Katlyn Evans was 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 2 rbi's. Sophomore Alexis Ring was 2 for 3 with 2 runs. Freshman Nicole Canavan was 3 for 5 with a run and 2 rbi's. All of the girls contributed to an excellent game in the field that provided sufficient support to some excellent pitching.

Seahawks Drop Close Game to Severna Park

The Seahawks who were leading the entire game allowed Severna Park to rally in the last inning losing 13 to 12. Melissa Debari pitched a great game. Several errors in the field caused the Seahawks to give up the lead. Leading the charge for the Seahawks were Katlyn Evans who singled 3 times and walked twice. She scored 3 runs and had 1 rbi. Nicole Canavan had a double and a single to drive in 3 rbi's. Alexis Ring went 2 for 4 with 2 runs and an rbi. Melissa Debari had a double, a single, and a walk for 3 runs and 2 rbi's. Teague Reese had 2 singles and a walk for 2 rbi's. Overall, the Seahawks played very well but were disappointed to lose to the Falcons. They look forward to games against Arundel and Northeast next week.

Seahawks Cannot Finish Against Arundel

The Seahawks started with five runs against the Wildcats, but remained scoreless the rest of the game to lose 15 to 5. Katlyn Evans was 2 for 3 with a run. Nicole Canavan and Melissa Debari both had a run and an rbi. Teague Reese scored a run and Erin Malley had 2 rbi's. The Hawks look to finish the season on a positive note against Northeast.

Seahawks Defeat Northeast In Finale

The Seahawks played an excellent game defensively. Brandi Dohm pitched a complete game in her first outing of the season. She received plenty of help from Erin Malley and Katlyn Evans in the outfield. Alexis Ring and Nicole Canavan were solid at third and short. Brie Long made a double play in the 7th inning to kill any chance of a rally for Northeast. The Hawks scored 9 runs to edge the Eagles by 1 run. Offensively, Nicole Canavan was 4 for 4 with a run and 2 rbi's. Erin Malley was 3 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 rbi's. Jamie Whilden and Brie Long were both 2 for 2 with a run and an rbi. Rachel Noyes and Katlyn Evans were both 1 for 2 with a run and an rbi. Congratulations are in order for a wonderful pitching debut by Brandi Dohm and for all the girls who worked hard all season to make the style of play for this win possible. Way to go Seahawks.
